Type of Fit Test

Gas Mask Fit Test (QNFT) -- Only Utilize After trying Kiosk

Gas Mask Fit Testing:
- Only Utilize this appointment type after an unsuccessful attempt using the kiosk or if instructed to by BE
- If previously performed, contact your UDM prior to booking for a previous copy. BE NO LONGER PROVIDES COPIES OF PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED FIT TESTS.
- Ensure face is clean shaven. NOTE FOR THOSE WITH A SHAVING WAIVER: BE will attempt the fit test using every means available. Those who do not obtain a passing Fit Factor will be provided a memorandum directed to their unit/CC with follow up actions.
- Do not eat or drink anything (except water) 30 minutes prior to the test

Respirator Fit Test

RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING:
- Contact your unit’s Respiratory Protection Program Manager for record keeping and confirmation.
- Must have a Medical Evaluation Questionnaire (MEQ) completed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base before signing up for an appointment (If unsure please contact Public Health DSN: 722-1172).
- Please bring in the respirator you are assigned/using during normal operations (unless for a N95)
- Have a clean-shaven face. NOTE FOR THOSE WITH A SHAVING WAIVER: Federal Law requires respirator wearers to be clean shaven during use. Please contact your unit’s respiratory protection program manager for additional guidance. BE will not conduct a fit test for those who are not clean shaven or those with visible hair growth which touches the sealing surface of the mask.
- Do not eat or drink anything (except water) 30 minutes prior to fit test.

- Firehawk M7 Responder
- MSA G1 SCBA
- 3M 7000 series
- 3M 6000 series
- 3M N95 (1860/1870) Filtering Face Pieces

Please utilize the kiosk initially for all gas mask fit tests. In the event of failure, BE will provide additional support utilizing other methods, if necessary. WE NO LONGER MAINTAIN COPIES OF PREVIOSULY COMPLETED GAS MASK FIT TESTS. CHECK WITH YOUR UDM FIRST OR UTILIZE THE AUOTMATED KIOSK TO PERFORM A NEW TEST.
